Time To Get Caught Up Report Aboard Knot Nancy

Capt. Dave Kostyo
April 17, 2013
Miami - Saltwater Fishing Report

It has been quite a while since my last fishing report. There has just been no time for me to sit down and write the report.

I have a break so I'll get caught up with the highlights of the action both offshore and inshore.

Bruce Wimmer and Barry Jennings went 3 for 3 on tarpon, 3 ladyfish, and 1 bluefish on their evening tarpon fishing trip.

Bob, Ron, and Ken Wegner caught 4 teenage size kingfish and 1 barracuda on their offshore trip.

Bruce and Barry were back for another evening trip. This time it was 1 tarpon, 2 Spanish mackerel, 1 bluefish, and 6 ladyfish.

Brad Coren's group caught 2 dolphin and 1 kingfish for dinner during their offshore trip.

Jose Bustos and his group went 1 for 4 on their evening tarpon trip. The one we landed and released was a nice 90# tarpon caught in the Bay.

Tony and Kevin Tavares caught 6 Spanish mackerel, 2 snook, and a mangrove snapper during their evening trip. We had tarpon busting shrimp all around us; however, they just couldn't find our baits.

Murry Alper, Brian Barnett, and Keith Engelke caught 2 kingfish, 2 dolphin, and 1 bonito on their offshore trip.

Brad Coren was back offshore again. This time it was 1 for 1 on sailfish, 1 kingfish, 1 dolphin, 1 mutton snapper, and 1 cobia.

Eduardo Pellas, Milena Gurdian, Raul Lacayo, and Monica Lacayo went 2 for 2 on tarpon, 1 snook, 1 mutton snapper, and 1 yellowtail snapper on their evening trip.

The Ryczek Family (Steve, Barb, Sarah, and Ben) caught 5 dolphin and 1 blackfin tuna on their offshore trip.

Ben and Mary Ellen Garcia caught 2 of the 3 sailfish we hooked up during their offshore trip.

The Roehrs Family (Chris, Lisa, Calib, and Madison) went 2 for 2 on tarpon and a snook on their evening trip.

Brad and Stu Coren along with Brad Kiassman went 2 for 4 on sailfish, 1 kingfish, and 5 bonito on their offshore trip.

Mike Little's group went 1 for 2 on tarpon and 1 snook during their evening trip.

Jeremy and Bob Shubrook caught 2 kingfish and a bonito on their offshore trip.

Don, Greg, Cheryl, and Suzanne Andrews had a great variety during their evening trip. They caught 1 of the 3 tarpon (160#'s), 2 jack crevalle in the 15 – 20# class, and an 80# blacktip shark.

Brad Coren went 1 for 2 on sailfish, 2 bonito, 1 kingfish, and 1 barracuda on his offshore trip. All the fish were caught using the kite.

Michael and Courtney Renault went 1 for 2 on sailfish, 1 kingfish, and were fascinated with the triggerfish and remora that also ate baits.

Eric Coultas caught 2 of the 5 tarpon we hooked during his evening trip.

As you can see the action has been steady both offshore and inshore.

I'll be back to more evening and offshore trips starting tomorrow. I'll be sure to write another report as soon as I get another break.
