Dancing for Groupers

Miami - Saltwater Fishing Report

It's been a busy week of fishing. Monday we entertained a couple and the man had heard about grouper fishing, but never done it. Capt. John hardcore trolled two lures on the wire line dancing around shallow waters and corals. The nerve racking effort produced two fine groupers. For the second part of the trip, the crew switched over to offshore trolling where they captured a nice wahoo on the planner with an offshore plug.

On Tuesday, the grouper troll produced no bites. The water was slightly cloudy, so Capt. John trolled south in the 200' range that had been producing blackfin tuna bites. Again no bites, so out came the Daiwa Tanacom 1000 reel and the mate dropped for tilefish on a special spot in 630'. Success! The anglers liked the way they could push the button part of the way and then wind the fish up at the end. After a few fine tiles, the group wanted to try offshore. John found a thin weed line in 450' of water, and with some live pilchards, enticed a few dolphin to bite.

Both groups had a fun time and will be back to fish again. The Blue Waters 2 is running some summer specials so call and book with us.
