Miami - Saltwater Fishing Report

My last two trips have been with Families. The featured anglers have been their young children who were fishing in the saltwater for the first time. Not only did they catch their first fish of different species, they also learned about other things that Mother Nature shows us in the beautiful waters of the Atlantic Ocean.
Dave, his son Jack, and John fished in some bumpy seas. Jack enjoyed the ride out and must have thought he was on a roller coaster at an amusement park. The expression on his face when he saw a dolphin/mahi jumping on the end of his line was worth more than a thousand words. He also added a kingfish and was thrilled.

Curtis, Kris, and their son Eli, along with Bob had beautiful calm weather for their half day trip. Eli got the ball rolling with a Cero Mackerel. Then a kingfish. We dropped on several wrecks and were rewarded with 2 mangrove snappers. Another drop on the next wreck and we added another kingfish. Eli kept asking about how the strange (downrigger) machine worked. I set the downrigger and 2 flat lines and slow trolled. We missed the hook up on the first bite from the downrigger. The second bite hooked up solid and we caught another kingfish before heading in.

Family fishing trips are fun for everyone. Besides catching fish, the young anglers learn about jellyfish, Sargasso weed, turtles, flying fish, porpoise, and many other things.
Give me a call or email me to set up your Family fishing trips and spend some quality time together in the outdoors.
