Miami - Saltwater Fishing Report
A father son all-day fishing trip started with a stop at the bait boat. After loading up on bait, Captain John ran out to 300 ft. to check the conditions. The current was slow to nil, so he decided troll south to start the day. The planner and the long rigger baits saw some kingfish and bonita action to warm-up the anglers.
Next, Capt. John stopped the boat in 650' and send the electric reel down for tasty tile fish. While winching up a tile fish, a small school of mahi-mahi appeared at the stern of the boat. The mate quickly flicked out a live bait and soon the anglers where busy on mahi. They boated three fish before the rest of the school swam north.
Later in the day, the current started to run north so up went the kite and live baits. The conditions looked perfect for sailfish, but did not see a single sail. A few kingfish show-up to steal the sailfish baits, as well as, an undersized cobia (released). In all a good day and the team returned to the dock for pictures and dinner.
