Miami - Saltwater Fishing Report

How good is Miami Florida fishing? Let's look at the last couple of days.
Last Monday we Fish a half day trip. We caught 2 big kingfish, a nice mutton snapper and a sailfish.

Yesterday morning was our bad news trip. We lost several big bottom Fish. The final results were a big amberjack, a small snapper and a small almaco jack.

We went after swordfish yesterday afternoon. The results? 3 mahi and a 11 foot swordfish.

Today we targeted mahi. We lost a sailfish, but after catching over 80 mahi, that lost sailfish was forgotten. For the record, half of those mahi were released.

This evening we went tarpon fishing. Our guest from England caught 5 tarpon over 60 pounds each.

I guess that will give you an idea how good fishing is in Miami this week.
Look for continuing mahi action for most of the summer. Tarpon should stay active another couple of weeks. It won't be long till wahoo, bonito and kingfish will be attacking planer baits with vigor.
