Miami - Saltwater Fishing Report

We have had some super fishing over the last month or so.
Scott Nichols targeted a double royal slam for catching all the recognized billfish of the world twice in a year. Beyond that he hoped to tag all nine with Billfish Fundatin tags in that year.
Well with 8 days left in that year period, we finished the goal. Scott tagged and released a 82 inch lower jaw fork length swordfish about 350 pounds on Friday afternoon, September 18th. What a party we had that night.
A few days latter Mark Turner caught 2 swordfish about 350 pounds each in two drops. We harvested a 90 inch fish and tagged the other before releasing it.
We also caught several cubera snappers on live lobsters in August and September around the full moons. The best was about 50 pounds.
This week we had some real good kingfish action on planers with Drone spoons and mahi offshore trolling ballyhoo and strips. A big floater on Monday produced 7 wahoo.
Miami Fishing Forecast:

We are due to see our first cool front this weekend. This could produce tarpon, mullet, bluefish and more along the beach. All fishing could get better after this weather change.
