Hurricanes Gone! Red Tide Gone! Fish Here!

Capt. Alan Sherman
October 20, 2018
Miami - Saltwater Fishing Report

Finally, the fall Migration in South Florida is under way. With hurricanes, red tide, blue/green algae and who knows what else interfering with our weather and waters it was hard to know for sure if our fishing would survive this season. For the most part all these conditions have moved on and left us with some pretty good fishing. I am confident when I say that it is Now time to go fishing!

Schools of mullet of all different sizes, glass minnows, pilchards, threadfin herring and ballyhoo have made their ways into our bays, along the Oceanside beaches, out into the ocean and down into South Bay. Tarpon, snook, sea trout, Spanish mackerel, bluefish, barracudas, jack crevalles, ladyfish, sharks, groupers, mangrove and mutton snappers and yellowjacks are all being caught at this time.

Offshore there have been kingfish, bonitos, blackfin tuna, barracudas, jacks, sharks, sailfish and dolphin fish being caught every day.

In Flamingo where the red tide never was an issue snook, redfish, tarpon, tripletail and sea trout are being caught in good numbers.

If you're interested in any of these species and looking to get out on the water for 4, 6 or 8 hours then give me a call and let's see what we can do!
