Kingfish Saves the Day

Capt. John Barker
December 19, 2013
Miami - Saltwater Fishing Report

We were hired to entertain/fish a small group attending a weekend of fun in Miami. The crew set off with a live well full of bait and high hopes for kite fishing. Unfortunately, the water was all one color and no current. Undaunted, the mate broke out the planners and lures for trolling.

The weather was calm and the beer was flowing when a large kingfish bombarded the larger planner bait. The guys put down the brews and reeled in the fish. The rest of the bites were smaller but the teasing was fun. We returned to the dock with smiles all around.
