Mid-October Mixed Bag of Fish Off Miami/Miami Beach, Florida

Capt. Dave Kostyo
October 17, 2015
Miami - Saltwater Fishing Report

Fall is upon us and this means the annual bait runs. The mullet are coming through in big schools that are flooding into the Bay. Large schools of pilchards can now be found along the beach and in the Bay. Threadfin herring continue to remain strong and consistent.

All this bait means the action both in the Bay and offshore has begun to pick up. Well offshore, the dolphin/mahi action has slowed down some, however, it is still worth while running out to look for them.

In on the reef, it's been a mixed bag of sailfish, kingfish, dolphin/mahi, snapper, and amberjack.

Put out a variety of baits using a variety of techniques and you'll find the action you're looking for.
