Miami - Saltwater Fishing Report

That seems to be the common theme to all of our recent trips. October and November can sometimes be referred to as the "in-between" months. So what does that mean you may ask? What that means is that we have a very diverse group of fish in the area at this time. The fish have ranged from grouper to muttons, kings to horse eye jacks. To further illustrate my point I will try and highlight a couple of trips to I did this month.
One of my trips this month was with Brandon Jacobs and his wife. Brandon stated that he "just wanted to bend some rods". So after loading up on pilchards and herring we set off in search of our first action of the day. We started the day with a fish that put on a blistering run that unfortunately became unglued and left us forever wondering what may have been. On every drift we did that day we had a fish on. It ranged from several bonitos, to sharks, blackfin tunas, kings and grouper. Once the current picked up I decided to go and anchor on some of the local wrecks in our area. There we were rewarded with a kingfish, porgy, and a black grouper.
I did another trip with fellow captain and friend Dave Kostyo. On this trip we were joined by Heidi Mohr, Dave Eschmeyer, and his uncle Arthur Beradelli. On this trip we ended up with 4 bonitos, 3 blackfin tuna, 2 kingfish, 2 amberjacks, yellow jack, and a horseye jack. Again a very eclectic mix of fish that made for a great day of fishing with nonstop action. This time of year the best thing to do is keep in open mind and you will enjoy a great day on the water.
Some of you have inquired about the new boat currently in production at SeaVee. It seems as if the middle of November is the anticipated time of completion. It is a coming together rather nicely and we should be fishing in style shortly. I still have my current boat, also a 32 SeaVee, so if you want to go fishing give me a call. I already have several dates in December booked and one date in January so if you were looking to book a particular date please don't hesitate to call so that we can put you in the book. I look forward to fishing with you in the near future.
Until Next Time, Best of Luck
