Miami Fishing Report: Key Biscayne to Triumph Reef

Capt. Orlando Muniz
March 25, 2007
Miami - Saltwater Fishing Report

Good Fishing - Rough Weather

Spring is here, and things are looking more and more like they are supposed to. March and April bring some of the hottest fishing combined with some of the strongest winds of the year. The strong Easterly winds of this past week kept the bluewater in close and sparked some good dolphin action for those willing to brave the rough seas. Sailfishing has also remained strong especially for those fortunate enough to find a strong north current.

I had two trips over the past three days. Friday afternoon we manage to go 1 for 2 on the sails and had a brief dolphin encounter. Today (Sunday) we decided to fish inshore and stay out of the washing machine. Fishing was generally slow except for some nice spanish mackerel action that we had on the outgoing tide early in the a.m.

Winds are supposed to remain strong for at least a couple more days. Hopefully the fish won't notice and keep biting the way that they have been. March is almost gone and April is right around the corner. We should start to see some large slammer dolphin along with kingfish and some blackfins. Sailfishing should remain strong for a while.

If you're interested in fishing during April or May give me a call so that we can schedule a trip. I still have several dates available during April.

Till Next Time, Capt. Orlando www.NomadFishing.com (786)266-0171
