Fishing North Biscayne Bay
with Capt. Alan Sherman
North Biscayne Bay fishing has been very good since the fall migration has started. Almost everywhere you go you will see Pelicans and Terns diving on the schools of Threadfin Herring, Pilchards, Sardines and Finger Mullet. This past week and as of this writing Speckled Sea Trout, Jack Crevalles, Ladyfish, Bluerunners, Barracudas, Mangrove Snappers, Spanish Mackeral, Snook & Tarpon are feeding actively early and late in the day. Hit the water at first light and start looking for the schools of baitfish and the predators will be right on their heels. Surface lures, shallow running plugs, Hook Up lures with a Saltwater Assassin worm resembling a Sardine or Finger Mullet will get plenty of strikes. A live Pilchard or Finger Mullet attached to a Cajun Thunder will get plenty of attention. Paul Fass went 3 of 4 on Tarpon on 8 to 12lb. Ande Line. The Tarpon ate live Finger Mullet and Sardines. Jerry C. released a 30 lb. Tarpon on 10lb. Ande Line and a dead Sardine in the bay then in the ocean caught Spanish Mackeral, Bonita, Tripletail, Jacks, Atlantic Big Eye, Black Fin Tuna and Dolphin. Gail and Craig Myers visiting from Baltimore in 4hrs. caught and released Barracudas, Speckled Sea Trout, Jack Crevalles and Mangrove Snappers. Take advantage of the fall migration and and all the fishing action that goes with it now! This is one of the best times of the year to be out on the water.
