North Biscayne Bay Fishing Report

Capt. Alan Sherman
December 22, 2003
Miami - Saltwater Fishing Report

FISHING NORTH BISCAYNE BAY

with Capt. Alan Sherman

Biscayne Bay fishing has been as good as the weather. Hot & Cold! With the dropping bay water temperatures most of the action has been in the late morning into the afternoon. Speckled Sea Trout are in good numbers and size but must be released until the first of the New Year but can be caught for catch and release. Snook fishing is steady at night but they are also out of season till the 1st of Feb. but can be caught for catch and release. Mangrove snapper and a few undersize groupers have been hitting in the deeper holes in the bay. Spanish Mackerel have scattered but can still be caught. Plenty of bait around and the Shrimp I have been buying for my charters are much bigger so a Shrimp run could happen any night.

Recent catches have included'

Stephen Keung and party catching 6 Snook to 8 lbs. on Shrimp and a Capt. Hank Brown's Hook Up Lure. They released all but the 8 lber.

David Ross and son Jason caught Spanish Mackerel, Jacks, Bluerunners and an assortment of bottom fish to 8 lbs.

Barbara Sherman(no relation)and her granddaughter Terrin age 9 and grandson Brandon age 8 caught and released over 20 Speckled Sea Trout to 15"s.

Jack Harrari and son's Michael and Andrew caught Spanish Mackerel, Speckled Sea Trout to 17"s and an assortment of bottom fish.
