Fishing North Biscayne Bay
with Capt. Alan Sherman
Time for a fishing update! The fishing in North Biscayne is great! The hurricanes have left us alone for the time being and the fishing & water has finally had a chance to regroup. The fall migration of baitfish & predators is in full swing. North Biscayne Bay is loaded with Pilchards, Spanish Sardines, Threadfin Herring, Black & Silver & Finger Mullet and Snook, Tarpon, Sharks, Speckled Sea Trout, Jack Crevalles, Ladyfish, Mangrove Snappers and Barracudas are feeding heavily on the bait. Just off the beaches Tarpon, Snook, Cero, Spanish and King Mackerel are working the schools of bait to get into the action all you need is a keen eye to spot the bait and a 10' 3/8" West Coast Cast Net to get all the bait you need for a full day of fishing. Now it's time to fish so bait up with a fresh lively bait and cast to the edges of the bait schools and you should be on your way to a spectacular September day of fishing.
Recent Catches:
Robert Perdigon and fishing buddy Mike caught Cero, Spanish & King Mackerel to 8 lbs. plus Bar Jacks, Blue Runners, Yellowtail & Mutton Snapper while fishing just offshore of Bakers Haulover then came into North Biscayne Bay and caught Snook, Jack Crevalles and Speckled Sea Trout to 3 1/2 lbs using live Pilchards & Sardines on 6 & 8 lb. spin.
Kevin Smallee and son Chris teamed up to catch Cero & King Mackerel, Speckled Sea Trout and Jack Crevalles fishing just offshore of Bakers Haulover & North Biscayne Bay.
Jerry C. caught & released Tarpon, Cero, Spanish & King Mackerel plus Red Grouper, African Pompano, Trigger Fish, Barracudas, Mangrove Snappers and Speckled Sea Trout to 3 3/4 lbs. fishing in North Biscayne Bay & just offshore of Bakers Haulover.
Tom Sahl & friend Steve visiting from South Carolina fishing in solid rain & wind caught & released Snook, Barracudas, dozens of Jack Crevalles & Speckled Sea Trout fishing in North Biscayne Bay. They were fishing with live Pilchards.
The great fishing we are experiencing right now will continue until the real cold fronts move in around late November and chase our fish further south. So give me a call and book a trip soon so you too can get in on the hot action.
