Happy Holidays to All!
If there ever was a time to catch a sailfish it is right now. For the past week, the sailfishing has been very good and exceptionally good in the past few days. I have been fishing every day (except Christmas Day) for the past week, and we have caught anywhere from 2 to 6 sailfish per day. We have been getting anywhere from 3 to 8 shots a day. That’s pretty good, especially when the action has been this good for over a week. Most of the sailfish have been between 140 to 100 foot in depth and both herring and goggle eyes have produced well.
Besides the sailfish, there have been plenty of dolphin around as well as kingfish. The dolphin have been in the same depths as the sailfish, and the kingfish have been shallower.
January is getting booked pretty well. I will be fishing daily for the next week or so. The action should continue to stay good, especially if we get a few more cold fronts. Sailfish season will last well into April, but why wait – give me a call and lets go catch some.
Sorry for the short report, but I go to get all my gear ready for tomorrow.
Happy New Years to everybody.
Tight Lines and Good Fishing,
