Miami - Saltwater Fishing Report

On July 31st the Lapnow family had a great morning of fishing. Gabriel, Jessica and Christian caught pairs of amberjacks, barracudas, kingfish and big porgys. That plus 10 bonito and a big blue runner filled their morning.
Wednesday August 1st the Kelly men caught their share. They caught 8 mahi, 2 spinner sharks, a mutton, 4 huge porgy, 10 bonito, a yellow jack, and a barracuda. The catch of the day was John's first bonito on fly. I should add that he tied his own fly.
Thursday was crazy as we ended up running 3 trips. First we fished with Hans and his kids. They caught 3 amberjacks, 3 almaco jacks, a tile fish, 5 rose porgy and a bonito.
The next Thursday trip was with Alison and Jen. They requested sharks and they caught a lot more. They caught 2 spinner sharks, a silky shark, a hammerhead shark, a wahoo, a big barracuda, an amberjack and a bonito.
Finally We took Henry and his family fishing for a little while. On the first bait Henry caught a snook of over 20 pounds. His dad added a barracuda and a tile fish. Little brother Gordon caught a bunch of blue runners along with Henry.
Friday we tried to fish in the afternoon, but the weatherman wasn't having much of that. We did catch a couple almaco jacks and a amberjack before the rain and lightning called the game.
Miami Fishing Forecast:

August is cubera snapper month, snook should stay good, spinner sharks provide great big game action and last year August was great for mahi.
