Miami - Saltwater Fishing Report

Most people think spring showers when April rolls around. Not me! I think April brings great inshore spring fishing and that just what we have here in South Florida. The winds have been up this month but they are always up and that is one of things that spark the fishing. All of the predatory species that migrate south for the winter have been heading north as water temperatures rapidly warm up in South Florida. As they head north they stop for a visit in North Bay and that has set us for some great fishing.
Fishing in North Biscayne Bay has been very good. Working the protected areas of North Bay with live baits fished under a Cajun Thunder float, on Rapala X Raps and Skitter walks and Hookup lures tipped with Gulp and Trigger X baits we have had great catches of large sea trout, bluefish, snapper, ladyfish, Spanish mackerel, snook and tarpon.
Fishing in Flamingo has been just how I would expect it this month. The warmer conditions have the snook, redfish, sea trout, jacks, ladyfish and sawfish feeding on almost all of our Flamingo trips.

I have not made it offshore in some time and that is because of the winds.
Freshwater fishing in the Glades has been outstanding but that will change as soon as the rains set in and the water levels rise sending the fish back into the shallow conservation areas.

All of our fish have been caught using Daiwa spinning reels, Suffix line and Key Largo rods.
My new 22' pathfinder powered by my Yamaha 250 SHO four stroke engines continues to please my clients.
The fishing is still great and so is the weather.
Plenty of open dates for you to choose from so give me call, text me or hit me on Face Book and lets set up another great fishing trip.
