Summer Time Fishing

Miami - Saltwater Fishing Report

Summer time fishing is here already. Conditions are hot and the waters are calm. Reminds me of an old adage, "In the month of May, put the kites away; in the month of June break out the spoon".
We fished several days before the rains started associated with Colin. The first day the current was screaming to the north and the dolphin bite wasn't bad. The mate had to toss live pilchards to the debris to get the fish to bite. After the dolphin bite stopped, we spent the rest of the day playing with bonitas and kingfish on the reef.

The next day the current had quit. So out came the trolling gear and action was good on the edge of the third reef. Had to sort out the bonitas to catch several keeper Blackfin tunas. Never heard of a dolphin bite offshore.

The fourth of July is right around the corner so get your reservations in. The summer special is free fresh box lunches and free beverages on the all-day trips.
