Miami - Saltwater Fishing Report
We had a group of Bostonians book the Blue Waters 2 to get some sun, fishing action, and warmth. The herring bite at the stantion was very active. Capt. John then trolled south to set up to kite fish. The trolling was uneventful so as soon as the boat got far enough south, the kite and bottom baits were launched.
The bottom line started to sing out. The angler fought the unknown fish for a good while, gaining line and then loosing line. Just when the hooked shark came to the surface, there was a huge splash, and then there was half a shark on the line. John A gaffed the head of the shark and brought it in for pictures. Believe it or not, when the head was sent back overboard, the shark attempted to swim away.
The wind died so the guys went back to trolling. A nice blackfin tuna attacked a mylar lure and the fight was on. This fish was boated whole and the gang returned to the dock with a real story.
