Miami - Saltwater Fishing Report

A three generation family reunion took place on the Blue Waters II over the weekend. To celebrate a father's visit from Cuba, the family booked an all-day to relax and visit.
Captain John trolled along the edge near Key Biscayne but only managed to entice a few undersized kingfish, which were released. He then slid the boat out to deep waters and out came the LP (Lindgren-Pitman deep drop reel). A multi-hook baited rig was sent several hundred feet in search of tile fish. Mission accomplished, because it wasn't long before every angler had his fish.

After our quota of tile fish was filled, Capt. John went back to the edge and setup a live bait spread. The herring produced a nice sailfish that was fought on lite tackle right to the boat. With one final jump right at the boat, the fish was released. The family had a grand time and will be back for the sailfish bite in April.
