Winter Tarpon Season In Miami Has Started

Capt. Dave Kostyo

Miami - Saltwater Fishing Report

Last night we caught our first tarpon along the beaches on live shrimp. What this means is that the winter tarpon season in Miami has officially started.

From now through the end of June and for the past 2 years through the end of July the tarpon will be along the beaches, in the inlets and cuts, and in Biscayne bay. Time to re-spool your reels with fresh line. Build new leaders and tie on the circle hooks.

The tarpon is the hardest fighting and most thrilling fish you'll catch on the inland waters. They'll test you strength, stamina, endurance, and angling skills.

If this sounds like the kind of action you're looking for or is a fish to check off on your bucket list, then it's time to give me a call 305-965-9454 or send me an email [email protected] to set up your charter. The dates start filling up quickly and I already have several dates booked.

If you've never caught a tarpon before, after catching that first one you'll be hooked and can't wait to do it again.
