February Daytona beach to new Smyrna fishing forecast

Capt. Michael Mann
February 24, 2014
Mosquito Lagoon - Saltwater Fishing Report

2/22/2014 we have a great forecast for the next few mornings and the fishing should be lots of fun . This time of year we can use either artificial , live bait or fly to catch red fish and trout in the Mosquito lagoon. The water levels are low and this has the fish congregated better and typically eating good . Look for groups of reds pushing on the flats and trout in the deeper grass flats . Early morning and cloudy days try a search bait like a aqua dreams spoon , z-man soft plastic or skitter walk and as the sun gets up try a live shrimp or 3in gulp alive shrimp . This is a fun time of year to fish with mild weather .
