Jan-feb mosquito lagoon 2013

Capt. Michael Mann

Mosquito Lagoon - Saltwater Fishing Report

Mosquito Lagoon Jan Feb 2013 fishing

We have had a cold front which has cleaned the water up and caused the red fish to school up . We have been catching 30-40 reds with trout mixed in as well on live shrimp and gulp shrimp on jig heads or paddle tail baits in natural colors . Its on now we are going to have great weather for next week or so and the catch rates should hold strong . The schools have been holding on the edge of grass flats in the sand and if approached slowly and quietly they have been chewing . Trout have been in the deeper holes and the large gator trout have been in the grass and eating live finger mullet or top water baits when the grass permits you to work them properly . Flounder will be on the sand flats an will eat jigs slow worked along the sandy bottoms or on mud minnows .
