New Smyrna Beach and Mosquito Lagoon Fishing Report

Capt. Patrick Rood
June 12, 2017
Mosquito Lagoon - Saltwater Fishing Report

We have entered our summer with good numbers of bait both inshore and off the beaches. The redfish and trout are still chewing very well and the snook have turned on as well. Look for the red fish and trout to be holding in and around the bait pods. I have been catching them both on plugs, soft plastics, cut bait and live bait early morning. Then moving to ADL spoons and shrimp later in the day. The tarpon have started to make there appearance both inshore and off the beach. Look for them around the bait as well off the beach and just like snook to hang around structure inshore. Plugs, twitch baits, soft plastics and of course live bait are all good options to trigger a bite.

Good luck and be safe!
