Bad Weather Redfish

Capt. Drew Cavanaugh
December 15, 2009
Mosquito Lagoon - Saltwater Fishing Report

With the recent very strange weather patterns the Fishing has been not normal weather conditions for this time of year. Water levels are still high however the clarity of it has improved tremendously.

Searching protected banks the past few days we were able to produce some great trips out here. Trying hard to push with a stealth like movement down banks and focusing on fish movement can and will produce fish. Just take your time and try new things, this will sometimes provide you will information that is gold.

The D.O.A Nite Glow Shrimp in the 1/4-OZ. weight seems to be the ticket the past several days. Pat from Texas was able to get on several fish the other day despite the extremely high winds, rain and a major change in air and by now water temperature. Again pushing down banks using the little light you get can and will produce fish. A well placed bait to the redfish will induce a great strike and fun fight to follow. The fish were aggressive and see to be feeding.

I look forward to seeing you all out on the water.

Tight lines and bent rods!
