Naples - Saltwater Fishing Report

I know I say it every report but Naples and Marco island inshore fishing continues to produce some world class angling ! For all you live bait fishermen you can find it everywhere this time of year . With a few cast of the net you can black out your well. I like to use a 9ft 1/4mesh for all my summer and fall bait . This small size of mesh will allow the bait to netted without plugging every hole in your net. This week has been high incoming tides & these tides are perfect for some backcountry mangrove action. Redfish and snook have really been active with double digits of fish coming to the boat every day . One trick is to look for a shoreline that has lots of snowy egrets posted just over the water feeding . This means bait is getting pushed into the mangroves and it's always a great place to power pole down and shoot some baits up close to the bushes . Make sure you have your drags set as these bigger snook and reds love to hit and run deep into cover . Get out and enjoys the out doors. I will see you on the water !!!!!
