Naples - Saltwater Fishing Report

I can honestly say that I have not been fishing a whole lot the last month. The weather has been bad and hurricanes are really putting tourism down in the area. The water is still very stained and fresh from Fay and all the extra rain isnt helping. It looks as though the storms will be leaving us alone now and we can get ready for the Fall.
I have done some night fishing for snook and tarpon around the bridges. The incoming tide has been pretty good with tarpon out numbering the snook on most nights. Most fish are between 15-40lbs. I have been throwing DOA Baitbusters in red/white and silver. Fish the shadow lines and look for rolling fish. I have also done well using pilchars and drifting them back to the fish.
The bait was pretty thick this week before the swell showed up from Ike. Mackeral, bonita, and tarpon were all feeding on them off the beaches. I expect things to pick back up by the weekend when things settle back down.

Naples Fishing Forecast:

Fishing should really pick back up as Fall approaches. A week with no rain or wind will really help out the situation. Look for snook and redfish around the passes and points and tarpon showing back up on the beaches.
