Naples - Saltwater Fishing Report
Hot weather should mean hot fishing for all the waters of Naples and Marco and into the Ten Thousand Islands.
Fishing throughout the waters of Naples and Marco has been pretty darn good at the end of October. Catching lots of nice Snook, along with a host of other species on all types of tackle including Fly, Bait and Artificial. Last week I guided my Team of fisherman in a All Species Tourney out of Hamilton harbor in Naples and they were able to tally 17 out of 20 species of fish including Snook, Redfish, Tripletail, Pompano, Trout, and others to numerous to list. It was a great tournament and a lot of fun benefiting a great cause called Miracle Limbs. Look it up on the internet great Charity and I am happy to say they were able to raise some nice money for the cause. Hopefully there will be a greater turnout next year. Thanks to Naples Marina and Hamilton Harbor for the hospitality good food and prizes. We were able to catch most of the species on artificial jigs and a couple on bait. Everyone in the tourney came in with at least 12 species of fish from the list. I would equate that to some pretty darn good fishing. Fish were caught on the near shore wrecks to the bays just inland of the passes from Bonita to the Ten Thousand Islands.
Naples Fishing Forecast:
What does the forecast for November Look like, you ask. Well I hope the weather is going to change a little bit we are do for a little cooler weather. It would not hurt the fishing as long as it doesn't drop to cool to fast. It certainly would be much more pleasurable to be out there if it were cooler. The fish are there one way or the other. Snook are heavy in the passes and should stay that way until we see cooler temps. Tarpon will still be roaming around from the passes to the bays and into the creeks again until it starts to cool. Redfish are scattered all over. They will group up more with the cooler temps and be a little more catchable. Fishing all over should be good offshore to inshore there will be something to catch whether you are fishing artificial, Bait, or Fly. Fly fishing in particular should be red hot I would expect inshore species like Snook, Redfish, and Tarpon to be on fire until the water cools below 72 degrees, the way things are going this might be quite some time. On the beaches and offshore you will find schools of Large Mackerel including King and Spanish, Sharks, and False Albacore to beat the band. All are a handful on the long rod. Lets not forget the night fishing for Snook should be spectacular. Oh yeah I almost forgot the Everglades bass fishing is getting good too. Bass along the Alley including Peacocks. Try Interceptor as well as the canals along 75. Golden gate Canals not as good but not bad either expect to see 20 to 30 bass days with some peacocks and other cichlids thrown in. Well is this enough for you to catch. Now the bad news it could all come to a screeching halt if we get nasty cold fronts early this year. Hopefully not Cool not Cold is what we want Mother Nature please be nice. Well get out here and fish. Good casting Roan z.
