Naples - Saltwater Fishing Report
Well it doesn't matter what kind of trip we run there is always one thing in common,red groupers.Once again this summer there are plenty of red groupers to be had filling in every piece of rock betweem 10 miles and as far as you can run offshore.I ran a full day last week and caught 9 keeper groupers to 12 pds for dinner. The boys said they wanted goliath grouper so off to a wreck we went and caught 4 up to 150pds.This time of the year when a customer ask can we catch a goliath I ask them how many do you want to catch.Usually after the second one its all over but the sore back and arms.One of the key ingredients to catching goliath groupers is the day after remedy,a bottle of pain releivers on the nightstand so you can get out of bed in the morning.On a different note I ran a 10 hr and 12 hr trip last week and caught a limit of red groupers on both trips,20 on the 10hr,and 24 on the 12hr.Also in the mix on the longer trips are a mutton snapper or two with the occasional king.

Not as many gags around this year but the red groupers are taking up the slack.There is a grouper tournament in sanibel the weekend of August 17-18 called the Grouper Grab.Anyone interested in fishing the tournament on the Findictive can call or email me.
