Snapper Time

Capt. Michael Avinon
February 1, 2011
Naples - Saltwater Fishing Report

Well its that time of the year again when we shift gears towards snappers and amberjacks with kings showing up the end of the month. The water is still cold offshore but with all this south wind things should warm up in a hurry.Seems like every year at this time I think the pattern should change in about a week and it takes three weeks for the fish to shift to a more spring pattern,so with that said we should probably start catching some kings the end of feb.Lucky for us we have plenty of snappers and amberjacks to pull on until the kings show. The fishing in the skiff should only get better each warming day with spanish mackerel and kings showing up first and hopefully a tarpon or two behind them.If you are looking for a day in feb days are filling up quickly.

Naples Fishing Forecast:

We may have have gotten lucky with the next couple of cold fronts not pushing through our area but if the pattern is starting to shift a little then fishing should get really good with a lot of options the last week in feb and the first few weeks of march.

More Fishing Reports:

I have been operating out of Naples for over twenty years and have the spots to prove it.With a range of over 400 miles and the speed to get there quickly the options are endless. We are consistently one of the top producing boats in sw florida, stop by the city dock and see for yourself.
