Tamiami trail canal Tarpon

Capt. Paul Wolter
May 20, 2009
Naples - Saltwater Fishing Report

Hit the canals off Tamiami Trail for a couple hours today w/ my sister. The recent rain has pumped up the waterways a bit...the ones we fish definitely rose a few inches. They look alot better than before the rain, but can definitely stand to come up a bit more. There were some Tarpon around, but not in numbers like last week. I missed 2 that ate right infront of me, but my sister stuck and landed a nice one approx 15lbs. We are still getting bit on the soft plastic swimbaits. The big Snook we were seeing were absent today.
