Tis The Season!

Naples - Saltwater Fishing Report

For Redfish! The redfishing the last few weeks has been incredible. With cold fronts starting to roll through, redfish and snook are pushing their way deep into the creeks of the Everglades backcountry. The water temps have cooled down and have the redfish tailing hard and have also been floating around in schools all over the shallow grass flats of Pine Island Sound. Great sight fishing opportunities abound for fly fishermen and spin fishermen alike. Fish have been feeding on small baitfish on top making them easy to catch on poppers as well as topwater hardbaits. This is the season for ultra low skinny water fishing. Strong minus tides accompanied by light north winds keep the tides out making it the perfect conditions for stalking these fish from a kayak or wading. We've also been throwing small crab and shrimp flies as well as skimmer jigs to fish tailing hard in the grass.
