It's not just the weather that's hot this November!

Capt. Geoff Crouse
November 4, 2015
Naples - Saltwater Fishing Report

The bite has been in keeping with the temps this month... hot, hot, hot! So far every day has brought some record setting temps, which for this time of year is a welcome reprieve from the norm. The light southerly breezes have really done wonders at cleaning up the water. Visibility in the 15-20 foot range and calm seas have been bringing in good sized schools of bait for weeks.

What does this mean for anglers visiting the Naples area? Well, for starters, conditions have really kicked in the snook and redfish bite. On some days it even seems as if every shoreline, that has a moderate current, is holding fish.

The mullet run is in full swing, which has brought some anglers the opportunity to tie into a few Tarpon as well. They are being spotted along the beaches and near the passes, as well as some of their favorite Naples haunts.

Crab pots have been out since Oct 7th and are loaded with a lot of small triple tail. I have been cruising them for the past few weeks and although most are under 15 inches, I have been seeing one or two, on every trip, ranging in the low 20's.

Lastly, the pompano have been loving this clean water. Fishing the passes on a slower incoming tide should produce some fantastic results!

Naples Fishing Forecast:

I expect fishing to continue to be good, as long as this great weather holds up. It looks like we might have a weak front rolling in on us sometime this weekend, but it shouldn't mess the fishing up too much.

Target Species:

Snook, Tarpon, Redfish, Pompano, Triple Tail
