As The wind continues

Capt. Michael Avinon
March 4, 2010
Naples - Saltwater Fishing Report

I have not left a report in a while because the wind will just not stop blowing. We had two gale warnings last week for the gulf of mexico and you can imagine what 40 knts and 16 foot chop could do to a fishing trip.We did slip in a few days and did well each trip with limits of snappers to 24" on the full days and a nice bucket of snappers and grunts for dinner on the half day .There has been a lot of chum used on the Capt.Marvel the last couple of weeks but it makes a big difference at the end of the day.The amberjacks are still around up to keeper size with lots of throwbacks.

Naples Fishing Forecast:

We still have days open for when the groupers open april 1 but are filling up quickly. If you have a specific date in mind call and reserve your day otherwise you could be left standing on the dock in the afternoon admiring someone elses catcch.April is usually one of our best times to fish with gags still around reds showing up and kingfish showing in force. You also have the chance to catch a cobia or blackfin tuna.Although tunas are uncommon in this part of the gulf the ones we do catch are bvetween 18 and 30pds.Tommorrow we start a buisy stretch so Ill try to get in more reports.Captain Michael.

More Fishing Reports:

I have been operating out of Naples for over twenty years and have the spots to prove it.With a range of over 400 miles and the speed to get there quickly the options are endless. We are consistently one of the top producing boats in sw florida, stop by the city dock and see for yourself.
