Tarpon Springs fishing guide, Capt. Rich Knox of Absolute Florida Flats Fishing, traveled to the Florida Key's with clients Greg Pflume and Rick Nelson for some offshore Mahi-Mahi, Wahoo, Blackfin Tuna, and more in late July. We rented a house/duplex in Key Colony Beach, Florida Key's for 2 week's, had friends and clients down to due some serious offshore fishing close to home. The weather was great, 5-10 mph, ESE to SE everyday, no rain, plenty of sun and fun, the fishing was like the weather very productive, we all had plenty of fish to eat every night, and even managed to bring a good bit home. Fishing the weed lines from 550 feet (depth) to 1300 feet, small groups of birds dipping up and down, and anything of size floating on the surface that held bait ! While trolling we fished fresh brined Ballyhoo on the outriggers and an array of Billy Baits on the 3 flat lines, all produced fish, as well as seeing them and throwing a pinfish at them on medium spinning rod's. Love going down there every summer, and Love coming home to my family after a little of Paradise, see you next year Florida Key's. I Thank the Lord for the fishing and great weather and time there .
