Orlando - Freshwater Fishing Report
Alligator chain
Sunday and Monday we had half day trips out on Alligator Chain of Lakes.
Sunday we had Tony and his wife Lisa out on the water for some easy going Bass fishing action using wild shiners. Our day was spent on Lakes Lizzy and Trout Lake working the shiners close to grass beds and lily pad patches.
Freelining the shiners was the definate way to go, as Tony started the day out with a nice solid 4.5 pounder followed up with 3 nice smaller ones in the 2 to 2.5 range. Tony telling his wife that he was the master of bass fishing since he was out catching her may have spoken a little too soon, Lisa rears back on her rod and after a brief fight brings in a very nice 6 pounder.
Tony being the good husband congradulated his wife and i believe i overheard her say something to the effect since he was nice she would still cook him dinner. These 2 were a great pleasure to have out on the water and we look forward to seeing them once again next year. Totals for the day were 22 bass with the biggest coming in at 6 pounds. Great Job you two.
Monday Tony decided he wanted one last crack at the Alligator chain before heading back home.
So off we were once again, this time Lisa stayed behind and so did the shiner.
We worked Lakes Lizzy, Coon and Trout using white spinner baits, baby bass Senkos and 10 inch ribbontail worms in JuneBug color. Several bass being boated up to 4 pounds, we were still on the hunt for a bigger one,we headed back into Trout lake, right at the mouth of the canal and worked the lily pads when Tony finally got his Hawg, a nice solid 8 pounder on the 10 inch ribbontail worm.
Alligator Chain is a great place to fish for some good quality bass and with very little fishing pressure.
Till my next report, tight lines and great fishing
