Lake Toho & Kissimmee Chain

Capt. Jim Passmore
January 7, 2008
Orlando - Freshwater Fishing Report

The Crappie have been good in open water, using Ron zip jigs tipped with a minnow. Each day I go out on a trip, I see a lot of Crappie fishermen, fishing spider rigging, going against the wind to increase they coverage of areas holding fish.

Cooler weather and N/E winds have cooled the water temp. down into the middle 60's. Bass have started moving into the shallows. Look for 3 to 4 ft with hard bottom and open holes in the hydrilla behind Big Grassey. Baits of choice - Live Shinners, Rattle Trap, Spinner Baits. Whacky Worm style, Watermelon and Junebug.
