THE ICE TEA IS GOING AWAY

Capt. Charlie Porretto
May 3, 2009
Oyster Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

For the past few weeks after all the rain the Panhandle waters looked like ice tea from all the tanic acid coming out of the rivers. I discovered the local fish didn't like tea with their dinner. Trout were scattered, but the Red Fish were still pleantiful.

For the past week things have picked up. Recent charters have produced limits of trout, Red Fish, and some Spanish Mackrel. Not as many as we'll have in a few weeks, but a welcome sight especially if you like to troll.

Cobia have been seen but not many caught, yet.
Stay tuned, it's gonna get a lot better.
