Palm Beach - Saltwater Fishing Report
The past week provided plenty of wind and a little bit a rain, but that did not shut the bite down. Fresh to saltwater fish were chewing.
The snook fishing is great around mangrove shorelines, channels, docks and seawalls. Live bait and jigs kept the rods bent for anglers. Outgoing tide and the first of incoming tide provided great action for schooling snook. We have been catching three different species of snook common, fat and tarpon snook on our outings.
Tarpon fishing has been steady around inlets and back bay areas. Live baiting has provided the best action but a DOA C.A.L. 3" shad tail also provokes strikes. The tarpon have been schooled allowing anglers to see fish rolling on the surface.
The docks and channels edges have been teaming with black drum, spanish mackerel, croaker, snook, jacks, snapper and many other species. Live baits and DOA C.A.L. 3" shad have been the bait of choice.
Freshwater action has offered a mix bag of largemouth bass, peacock bass, clown knife fish and Mayan chiclids. DOA Terror Eyz, Rapala twitch baits and live bait have been the arsenal of choice. The waters are starting warm and the action will get hotter and hotter.
