Palm Beach - Saltwater Fishing Report
Wet weather has been common deal the past week, a relief in rain is coming. With all the rain the water temperatures have cooled triggering a great bite for salt water and freshwater species.
The snook fishing has been fantastic along mangrove edges, sea walls and docks. Live bait worked a long structure or a DOA C.A.L. 3" shad tail on a 1/8 ounce jig head gets the strike. Find moving water and you will find snook willing to eat.
Tarpon fishing continues to produce nice fish working channel edges and deep docks. Live mullet or greenies great baits to get to silver kings attention. I like the outgoing tide seems to produce the most fish and biggest fish. But incoming tide also produces fish as well for anglers.
Big Jacks continue to roam or local waters, these fish are absolute beast. The schooling jacks are great fun on light tackle and fly gear. Jacks are ambush feeders so if you like top water strikes,the jacks are willing to put on a show.
Freshwater bite has been excellent for largemouth bass fishing heavy grass mats and shorelines. The bass are striking DOA C.A.L. Curl tails and 4" jerk baits. Crappie continue to hold in the ten to fifteen mark striking small jigs. Hybrid bass have also been active this past week striking small Rapala crank baits and small jigs.
