Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report
Hot, cold, hot, cold...to say the weather has been strange is an understatement. Ran my AC in April the heat in May. Fishing has been off and on all spring but the water suddenly cleared bringing the good bite.
Reds, trout, blues, Spanish and everything else suddenly showed up this week in big numbers.
The time to catch big trout is now up to the full moon of June. Redfish are everywhere.
From what I have been able to see the bait will be easy to find this year.
I will be snapper fishing this year because there are so many if anyone wants to go, state waters open June 1st. Of course this is weather permitting.
Here are some highlights from this week. Special shout out to Greg for the pair of Costa's. Thank you, there are always fish to catch on the fly.
Panama City Fishing Forecast:
Lot of reds this year. This is the time of year you have a shot at a trophy, once in a lifetime, speckled trout. Snapper season starts June 1st in state waters and I will be running snapper trips this year. We killed the grouper last fall and it looks like grouper season will run to the end of November.
Target Species:
everything is biting
