Great Time to Fish in Panama City Beach, FL

Capt. Todd Jones
April 13, 2014
Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

I have been mixing things up a little the last few days. We have been hitting the Sheepshead first thing in the morning for about an hour, then stopping at some of the near shore reefs for Vermillion Snapper and Triggerfish for an hour or so. This gives us a great mix of eating fish. Along with the Triggers and Vermillion we are catching and releasing Amberjack, Red Snapper, and Grouper. Keep in mind we catch all of this on the same light tackle spinning rods. We spend the last hour or so catching Spanish and looking for Cobia.

More Fishing Reports:

Capt. Todd has been fishing the Gulf Coast for over 40 years and guiding for 30 years. He is a second generation fishing guide. While serving his country for 22 years as a Navy Diver he was able to fish all over the world. In his travels he has fished the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans, as well as the Mediterranean and the Sea of Cortez. But in his opinion nothing compares to the diversity we have here in the Emerald waters of the Gulf of Mexico.
