Great time of the year to catch N. Florida/Panama City Slam

Capt. James Pic
September 22, 2009
Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

This is the time of year things start happening. For another month or so we will be catching some nice trout on the flats. The reds are there and will stay. The flounder are starting to move. Those are the three fish of the N. Florida slam with Randy Sheffield getting his today. Randy had some nice keeper trout, a small red, ending up with a good flounder. His buddy, Mike, got a good red and some nice trout. We hit a couple of spots holding some big blues but no spanish. Spanish are in the bay, we just didn't have time to hit the spots this morning.

Panama City Fishing Forecast:

Trout and reds are on the flats with some big ones cruising some of my hot spots. Flounder fishing is picking up for anyone interested. Flounder will get better as the fall settles in peeking sometime around the beginning of November.
Spanish and big blues in the bay.
Kings offshore.

Target Species:

Fishing is great right now everything is biting.

More Fishing Reports:

Sight casting fly and spinning for reds, trout, bonita, spanish, jacks and many other species. Live bait trips available as well as hot topwater action in the bay around Panama City, Florida. Depending on the time of the year I can normally put you on legal grouper in the bay, monster speckled trout, lot's of fly fishing action and just about everything else that swims and good tablefare.
