Great year to fish for speckled trout in Panama City Florida

Capt. James Pic

Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

Trout bite has been good so far. No red tide in five years has helped. We are getting some nice reds here and there with the trout. Reds can be caught if we target them.

Spanish are really big this year. We had one to the boat a couple of weeks ago...I'm not going to take a guess at weight but I saw the black dorsal, this fish being the biggest spanish I have ever seen. Spanish bite won't change.

The tarpon have showed up along with the sharks and other species.

All in all fishing has been pretty darn good.

Panama City Fishing Forecast:

Trout bite should be good thru the summer.

Spanish, big spanish are around the bay and those of you that have fished with me know I know where they hang out.

If you want something bigger there are tarpon up and down the beach and some in secret spots. Lot's of sharks.

Target Species:

Everything is biting.

More Fishing Reports:

Sight casting fly and spinning for reds, trout, bonita, spanish, jacks and many other species. Live bait trips available as well as hot topwater action in the bay around Panama City, Florida. Depending on the time of the year I can normally put you on legal grouper in the bay, monster speckled trout, lot's of fly fishing action and just about everything else that swims and good tablefare.
