Rainy day trout and reds.

Capt. James Pic
September 12, 2009
Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

The wind blew and the rain fell....all morning long. It was a cold ride back to the dock from West Bay but everyone had smiles on thier faces and fish smell on thier hands.

We threw DOA and popping corks for trout, Zara Spooks and spinner baits for reds. The water was high keeping the trout in close to the bank which made it easy to throw against the grass for reds. We had a lot of trout, some red follows and looks. When the day was finished we had some nice trout and a decent red. Thanks a lot Ed and Billy....see you again next year.

Panama City Fishing Forecast:

Fishing on the flats is good. This is a good time of year to switch from live bait to artificial.
Spanish and blues along with some good sharks are still in the bay.
Kings off the beach and in the bay.
Flounder will start moving soon.

Target Species:

Fishing is great right now everything is biting.

More Fishing Reports:

Sight casting fly and spinning for reds, trout, bonita, spanish, jacks and many other species. Live bait trips available as well as hot topwater action in the bay around Panama City, Florida. Depending on the time of the year I can normally put you on legal grouper in the bay, monster speckled trout, lot's of fly fishing action and just about everything else that swims and good tablefare.
