Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

Panama City/N.W. Florida
Been running a few trips here and there. Mostly picking up some good catches of flounder. Been a few years since I've seen as many flat fish as this year. Caught just about all of them on white grugs with red heads.
Went to the steam plant canal a few times the last week and wore out the trout. Remember, catch and release only until the end of February. There are a lot of good fish in there right now and will bite. Be careful when releasing these fish, they will be next springs breeders and the fish we put in the box.
DUCK HUNTING
Did very well with the ducks during the first phase. Not only did we take our normal woodies and ringers...we got into mallards two days, widgeons one day, some blue and green winged teal and some redheads. There were more ducks than I have seen in about six or seven years. There are plenty of buffleheads out there but I don't shoot them because of the food value which is about like eating a hard head cat that's been laying in the bottom of your boat for two days. Looks like we are going to have a good year for ducks so if you want to go with the only duck guide in the area that has been doing it for more than ten years, give me a call. I spend a lot of time scouting and my knowledge of the local waters gives you the best opportunity to not only shoot ducks, but puddlers and cans that only guys that have been doing it around here for a long time know how. I am available every day of the week and hunt most days whether I have a charter or not.
Good luck...see you on the water.
