Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report
Panama City/ NW Florida
Fishing has been great this year. Both these pictures were taken in the last week or so. Kind of says it all.
I know a lot of you want me to be honest with my reports, so here goes. There are a lot...a lot of new guys and part timers out there this year. We fished next to one today. I had double and triple hook ups while his cutomers watched and wondered why they were not catching fish. "Newbies" and part timers....stay away from them. Like I said in a prior post there are plenty of good guides in the area and if I can't put you on my boat I will send you to one of the others that can put you on fish.
Fishing should continue to be great for the rest of the summer and get better through the fall. Catching lots of reds, trout, flounder and big spanish. Each of my clients had two redfish yesterday in about an hour. That's the difference between a seasoned guide and a part timer or newbie.
Duck Season....
The early season starts in about sixty days. Lasy year we did really well with the blue wing teal and woodies. I've have invented a new way to hunt birds around here and it worked throughout the year last year which rusulted in one of the best duck years ever. We took, woodies, teal (green and blue), ringers, blue bills, redheads, couple of cans, few mallards and even some goldern eyes.
Even though you may read that their are white geese here, that is basically untrue. I have heard of three being taken in the last twenty years and the Florida Game a Fish says there are very few that ever come our way. There are couple of "duck guides" in the area...lol...trust me, three years of part time hunting in Panama City doesn't make you a guide.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Capt. James Pic
