Same Ole, Same Ole... Which Is Better Than Most

Capt. James Pic

Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

FISHING THIS YEAR HAS BEEN GREAT, the water has warmed bringing the palegics into the bay. We started catching skipjack and blue runners along with the big spanish the last week or so. Also, we have had a couple of 50 pound blacktips on but have not boated any yet. Takes a little skill and lady luck to smile on you to put a big black tip in the boat when fishing 8 or 10 pound line.
Like always we start out each morning catching reds and trout and then move out to the big bay for the spanish, blues and other fast hitting, hard fighting species. We have had a lot of 100 fish days that include specs, reds, spanish, blues and flounder. Heres a few pictures taken the last couple of days.

I'm happy to announce the formation of the St. Andrews Guides Association which is a group of locals that have started working together to help you have a great trip while your in Panama City. We now have an avenue for offshore as well as inshore and offer multiple boat trips. All of the guides involved are compentant and able to put you on fish. I know a lot of guides read my reports, to you, we are looking for a couple more to be a part of this group.

My business is as good as ever and I strongly reccomend that you book as early as possible.

Thanks and see you on the water.

Panama City Fishing Forecast:

Reds and trout will continue to be a good bite. I foresee a lot of trophy trout this year. We had a five plus this morning but let it go quickly as to not hurt it. Same thing a few days ago. I don't like keeping the trout that we are putting back out of the water for long. If the camera isn't readily available we pass on the photo.
The palegic bite has been good and I have been getting bait and running chum lines for a couple of weeks now.
Looks like it's going to be a great year.
The blacktip sharks and other sharks species start moving into the bay this time of year which make for a great fight and good tablefare.

Target Species:

everything that swims.

More Fishing Reports:

Sight casting fly and spinning for reds, trout, bonita, spanish, jacks and many other species. Live bait trips available as well as hot topwater action in the bay around Panama City, Florida. Depending on the time of the year I can normally put you on legal grouper in the bay, monster speckled trout, lot's of fly fishing action and just about everything else that swims and good tablefare.
