Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report
OK everybody, it's that time of year, the Spanish mackerel have arrived!!! And in a big way!!! Everyone is getting their limits of these fine eating fish.
However, the weather is going to get cold for a few days, and they might slow down for a little bit, but it should pick up when the water warms back up.
Also, there have been a few pompano being caught around the piers and on the beach. The sheep head are getting ready to Spawn and are starting to be caught in good numbers around the dock pilings, and around the jetty. These are great eating fish, so if you want something for dinner, they would be a great fish to target.
Offshore triggerfish opens today March 1, so we will be catching lots of those great eating fish. The amberjack have been on fire lately, but unfortunately the season is closed until May. However, they are still a blast to catch.
There have even been a few king mackerel caught around the piers, so it shouldn't be long before they are here and then it will be game on!!! Everything is a little early this year, so get down here and let's go have a blast. Thanks for reading my report and I hope to see you soon.
Tight Lines,
Captain Scott
