Spring has Sprung in Panama City Beach, FL

Capt. Todd Jones
April 4, 2017
Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report

The Water temperature has on the beach is in the 70's, bait is moving onto the beaches and into the bays. Things are really coming together.
Out in the Gulf we are catching lots of big Vermillion Snapper, White Snapper,Black Snapper, and Scamp to take to the Shipyard Grill for Hook and Cooks.

If its sport you want, we have all the Amberjacks you can handle. In fact, we caught them for about 2 hours the other day on topwater plugs. If that doesn't get you excited, you need a different hobby. The first sail fish was also caught off the beach this week.

On the inshore side of things, the Spanish Mackerel have made the bay fishing very exciting the last couple of weeks. We are catching them both trolling and casting spoons and jigs. I have also had good trout reports from some of the other Sun Harbor Guides.

All in all, things are really coming together to make a great Spring and Summer. Don't just sit around and read fishing reports, get down to Panama City and catch some fish.

More Fishing Reports:

Capt. Todd has been fishing the Gulf Coast for over 40 years and guiding for 30 years. He is a second generation fishing guide. While serving his country for 22 years as a Navy Diver he was able to fish all over the world. In his travels he has fished the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans, as well as the Mediterranean and the Sea of Cortez. But in his opinion nothing compares to the diversity we have here in the Emerald waters of the Gulf of Mexico.
